Achievements

Achievements in a nut-shell:

In last about 22 years, the Institute (IASc) has completed 8 research projects directly connected with the Science & Society, and funded by prestigious bodies like DST, DBT and IASc itself. The outcome of the projects were several nutritional products, useful and cheap for the common mass; as well as generating employment by imparting training & skill development for making Nutritious-fish products, fodder products, Water testing & purifying kits, Na-tools etc. Presently two research projects are on the way; and important findings are being generated for the benefit of Science & Society.
Similarly, we published/presented more than 60 papers in national & international journals/platforms out of which a few were awarded the best paper presentation awards. For the awareness campaign, the Institute organised hundreds of Vigyan/Swasthya/Jal Chaupals, Pani Panchayats, Training Programmes, Workshops and Symposia/Seminars etc. On the basis of the extensive research done in the Institute, 4 books have been published, three theses were awarded and several book-chapters have also been written. The Institutes work has been recognised by the DST, DBT, ICMR and UNESCO; several other prestigious bodies are collaborating with the Institute. A new word/concept has been coined/postulated (Biogeogens) by the Institute, which has been given space in the scientific cyber world and existing on more than 50 world famous web-sites (please see the websites for the book published by the Springer as “Biogeogens and Human Health”).
